Teeth Cleaning at Sierra Dental Health: Keeping You Feeling and Looking Fresh
Professional teeth cleanings are an essential part of maintaining good oral health, and good oral health is more than just keeping your teeth bright. Poor oral hygiene has been linked to many serious illnesses like strokes, cancer, and bone loss. At Sierra Dental Health in Fontana, CA, we leverage state of the art teeth cleaning technology, and a highly trained staff, to give your teeth a quality cleaning and help you maintain good oral health.
The Teeth Cleaning Process
Under the direction of Dr. Hoa Nguyen, one of our hygienists will begin your teeth cleaning with an examination of your mouth. We’ll use a mirror to check around your teeth for any signs of gum disease or other problems. If they suspect major problems, they’ll call your dentist in to examine your mouth before proceeding with the cleaning.
Next, your hygienist will use a scaler to scrape off tartar and plaque from your gum line and the areas between your teeth. The amount of time this step takes depends on the amount of tartar there is in your mouth. The more you floss and brush, the less tartar that will buildup in your mouth. After the tartar has been removed, we’ll brush your teeth with a high-powered electric brush. This enables us to give your teeth a deep clean and remove any tartar that wasn’t removed by the scaler. Once we finish scrubbing your teeth, we’ll give your teeth a thorough flossing. We’ll then rinse out your mouth to remove any remaining debris. Finally, we’ll end your cleaning with a fluoride treatment. This fluoride treatment will give your teeth extra protection against cavities for several months.
After the Teeth Cleaning
After your cleaning is completed, your Sierra Health Dentist will give your mouth an in-depth examination. They’ll then review any potential issues they noticed or that the hygienist observed during your cleaning.
Your health is our top priority. Thus, we work quickly and efficiently to provide a high-quality and enjoyable teeth cleaning experience for you and your loved ones.
